Pensacola and the North Escambia region will see a steady rise in temperature this week, moving from the upper 70s into the low 80s by the weekend. The forecast calls for abundant sunshine and light northeast winds for the first half of the week, with afternoons holding near 78 degrees.
Monday began with mostly sunny skies and a high of 77 degrees. Northeast winds blew at about 10 mph during the day and slowed to 5 mph overnight as temperatures dropped to 51 degrees. Tuesday and Wednesday continued the pattern of sunny conditions, with highs near 78 degrees and lows in the low 50s. Winds remained light, generally ranging from 5 to 10 mph from the northeast.
The weather turns warmer as the week progresses. Thursday brings a high near 80 degrees with mostly clear skies. Friday maintains that warmth, with a high near 80 degrees and partly cloudy evenings. By Saturday, the temperature reaches 81 degrees, accompanied by a 20 percent chance of showers. Sunday continues the warm trend with a high of 82 degrees, though the likelihood of precipitation increases to 50 percent.
The gradual climb in temperature brings milder evenings as well. Lows will rise from the lower 50s early in the week to the low 60s by the weekend. The shift from cool, crisp nights to warmer conditions marks the transition into typical autumn weather for the area.
